In an announcement that is being seen as a setback, rather than a deathblow, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) today confirmed that it will not be part of the consortium of organisations that have pledged to fund enhancements to Ilfracombe's museum and seafront area.
In what Councillor Philip Webb described as one of the most rewarding functions of his mayorship, eight stalwarts of the community were today presented with Pride in Ilfracombe awards in a ceremony that was both humorous and touching.

Ilfracombe residents will by now all have received their new green kitchen caddies and brown bags in readiness for the new food waste recycling service which begins on October 12th. North Devon Council representatives will be on hand to give information in the Ilfracombe Centre on Wednesday 7th October from 11am to 1pm. They will be happy to answer any questions regarding the service from what should go where to why they are making this significant change.
