What is it about Ilfracombe that makes it such an unique and interesting place to live? Its natural environment with some of the best and most majestic scenery in Devon? The ancient streets and interesting architecture - a variety of noteworthy examples from the ancient, through to the Victorian to the very modern? Or the magnificent harbour, buzzing with activity in the daytime - a mixture of fishermen, boat-trippers and ice-cream - and a lively cafe culture in the evening? Or could it be the glorious sunsets seen from Wildersmouth Beach lighting up the sky and sea in pinks, reds and golds? Whatever it is that you find most appealing about the town, Ilfracombe Town Council is asking you to capture it on camera.
Ilfracombe Town Council's ongoing aim to communicate the town council's activities to the public has taken another step in the right direction with the introduction of a 'Mayor's Blog'. Recently-installed Mayor, Philip Webb has become Ilfracombe's first mayoral 'blogger' publishing an online diary detailing, not only civic occasions that he attends on behalf of the town, but also meetings he attends for town council business.
