Pride in Ilfracombe

The scheme has been in operation for over 2 years and we have awarded many individuals for their special contributions to community life. Categories have recently been expanded to enable Business’s to be nominated - those who encourage community development or shops that have improved the image of the town.

Anyone can make a nomination, and all entries will be considered by a panel made up of representatives from local organisations. On an annual basis, all nominations put forward throughout the year will be considered for the winner of the Citizen of the Year award, an honour that recognises a very special person and their exemplary contribution to our town.

Do you know of somebody in the community who deserves a special thank you for the work they do?

Are there any unsung heroes or heroines worthy of recognition for an act of kindness, generosity or courage, or for consistently putting others ahead of themselves? What about someone that has made a valuable contribution to his or her school or family, or a business that encourages community development or a shop owner that has improved the image of the town?

We know they are out there and we want to acknowledge them!
